WHO'S IN THE MOOD FOR A GOOD "SHOOT EM UP"?

Finally, an action movie that looks like it delivers, in no small part to it's fantastic cast, Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and the stunning Monica Belucci.

I'm not sure when Shoot Em Up hits theaters, but this one does look like a must see.

THE NUMBER ONE NAME IN COMEDY

Judd Apatow.

He looks like a cross between of half of my cousins and most of the counsellors I had at Jewish Sleep-a-Way camp.

Nevertheless, this genius has made me laugh more times than I have deserved to.

He has created an ensemble group of players who frequently appear and reappear in project after project. He is a writer, a director and a producer.

He has been involved in some of the finest comedy in the last decade including The Larry Sanders Show, The Ben Stiller Show, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, The 40 Year Old Virgin, The Cable Guy, and two upcoming summer films, Knocked Up and Superbad.

His ensemble includes many regulars both in front of and behind the camera including Paul Feig, Jay Baruchel, David "Gruber" Allen, Paul Rudd, Samm Levine, Leslie Mann, David Kochner, Jason Segal, Martin Starr, Carla Gallo, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and the legendary Seth Rogen.

This summer, Apatow and Rogen team up for two movies.

The first, Knocked Up is written and directed by Apatow and stars Rogen as a leading man for the first time, opposite Katherine Heigl. Alum in the picture include: Mann, Rudd, Segal, Starr, Baruchel with a cameo by Carell.

The second, Superbad, is co-written by Rogen, directed by Greg Mottola (who directed six episodes of Undeclared) and is produced by Apatow. Small parts are played by Starr, Rogen, and Gallo.

Currently, Apatow is involved with the upcoming Walk Hard, a homage of music bio pics starring John C. Reilly (Talladega Nights); You Don't Mess with the Zohan, co-written and starring Adam Sandler (Undeclared) and co-starring Rob Schneider; Step Brothers with Ferrell and Reilly: Forgetting Sarah Marshall written by and starring Segal and The Pineapple Express, co-written and co-starring Rogen opposite James Franco (Freaks and Geeks).

I can't help but enthusiastically respect Apatow for his talent and his loyalty.

Plus, he makes me laugh.

"WHO NEEDS THE KWIK-E-MART?" ME!!!

In news that will obviously satisfy the millions of fans of Springfield, the world's largest convenience store will get Simpsonized, though 7-Eleven Inc. said the deal isn't done yet.

If all goes as planned, the convenience store chain plans to refit 11 stores across the U.S. to resemble the front of the Kwik-E-Mart, the convenience store that Homer and other characters frequent in the classic cartoon TV series and to help promote the upcoming film The Simpsons Movie.

Customers also will be able to buy products inspired by the nearly two-decades-old show, including Krusty O's cereal, Buzz Cola and iced Squishees (the cup says Squishee, but the contents will be Slurpee).

The chain also will use pictures of Simpsons characters to promote 7-Eleven's line of fresh foods, such as placing the face of Homer and his classic "Mmmm . . . sandwich" quip on sandwich wrappers.

It was unclear yesterday which 11 stores of the more than 4,700 nationwide would receive a cartoony facelift or sell inventory of the Simpsons-inspired products.
